Robyn Fairchild, MSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT
Credentials: Licensed Master of Social Work, Advanced Clinical Practitioner License, Licensed Professional Counselor.
Professional Background: Received Masters Degree in Social Work from University of Texas at Austin in 1983, Therapist in Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center from 1983 to 1984, Hospice Therapist from 1986-1988, Outpatient Private Practice at The Woodlands Family Institute from 1988 to Present.
Clinical Focus: With a particular interest in Eating Disorders and adolescents, I enjoy working with a variety of clinical issues which include depression, sexual abuse, grief resolution, childhood trauma, and women’s issues of all kinds. Working with a great deal with couples and families, I am especially interested in divorce and remarriage issues.
Interests: As most mothers, I have a never ending interest in everything about my son, soon to be 20, and in college. Our family has shared the love of martial arts, all having our black belts in tae kwon do. Presently, my great passion is for aerobic fitness. I participate in weight training, kickboxing, yoga, pilates, always open to new exercise. I adore music of all kinds, handiwork for creativity, and reading as one of my greatest pleasures.
Treatment Philosophy: I honor the inherent value and strengths in people and families I treat and operate from a model of wellness. I believe that people should be active in their own treatment and thus welcome and respect the client’s input at all times. I see my role as being a co-creator with the client in defining their own answers on their journey to wellness.
