Improving Parent Effectiveness

Discipline, esteem, peers, bullying, sexting, hyperactive, teen suicide, achievement, chores, failure to launch, overdose, lying, video games---the concerns parents face today seem endless and increasingly complex.

When was the last time you and your spouse sat down with your children for a family meal? Busy lives, single-parenting (even when you are married), children’s and teen’s activities, and a myriad of other stressors make parenting hard.

Unsure of what to do, parents often differ over where to go. Counselors at Woodlands Family Institute help parents work together with specific approaches to support children’s growth towards self-reliance and self-regulation.
